The Winter 46 High Peaks Workshop
Thank you for registering for an Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) workshop.
Health insurance is required to participate in this program.
The Winter 46 High Peaks Workshop is an instructional course covering a wide range of topics relevant for Aspiring Winter 46ers: an introduction to the 46 High Peaks, route selection, approaching the “trail-less” peaks, hiking efficiency, backcountry safety, rules and regulations of the High Peaks region, and a proper equipment demonstration. We will also discuss Leave No Trace skills and ethics throughout this course, inspiring environmental stewardship to protect this region of New York’s Forest Preserve for generations to come.
Please plan on meeting in ADK’s Education Yurt Village at 9:00am. Parking is included for program participants. While the yurts are heated, participants should come dressed with warm layers should we spend a portion of the class outdoors. The day will conclude with a comprehensive content session, ending at 4:30pm. The course will be instructed by the ADK’s Education Programs Coordinator, Tyler Socash, who is a 7-time 46er (1 round of the Winter 46) with over 7,000 miles of thru-hiking experience.
ADK members receive a 10% discount on programs and lodging. To reserve lodging at the Adirondak Loj, please call the Adirondack Mountain Club at (518) 523-3441 or book online.
If you have any questions about the program please contact Tyler Socash at (518) 523-3480 x 120 or by email at email@example.com
We look forward to meeting you. Come prepared to learn and to have fun!
