Thank you for your interest in an Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) workshop.

The Winter Hiking 101 Online Workshop is an instructional course delivered to you from the comfort of your own home via Zoom, a video conferencing platform. This course will cover all of the information you need to know before you plan your first winter hike, such as the "Ten Essential" gear items to bring, Leave No Trace Principles, how to decide on where to go, general hiking safety, and how to be a steward to the public lands you visit.

This half-day course will begin at 9am and conclude around 1pm with a few short breaks throughout. The course will be instructed by member(s) of ADK’s Education Staff, all of whome are avid hikers, backpackers, winter enthusiasts, and New York State Licensed Guides.
