Yellow Fever vaccine will be mandatory for travelers enterin to Costa Rica from 43 countries where the disease is prevalent. THsi measure aims to protect public health due to the high circulation of viruses in these regions.
Among the affected countries in the Americas are: Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, French Guiana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago.
The African countries include: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda and Zambia.
Travelers must be vaccinated at least 10 days before enterin Costa Rica. Foreign nationals without proof of vaccination will be denied entry, and Costa Rica citizens must ensure they are vaccinated before traveling to these countries.
